I set up the hosting, designed and built the Wall of Song Project for 2 artists – my sister Mel Day, and Michael Namkung.
During the election campaign, one of the candidates proposed a wall along our southern border—a physical wall of division and separation. We are building a wall of song—a different kind of wall that brings people together. People are invited to record themselves singing along to Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah. With this collected footage, we are creating a massed choir video piece to broadcast on Inauguration Day, January 20th, and also after the first 100 days of the Trump administration.
We welcome all contributions, no matter your political affiliation, beliefs, country of origin—or even your ability to carry a tune. We already have dozens of submissions, but want to increase this into the hundreds, creating a resonant sound similar in scale to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir who will be singing on Inauguration day.
Here’s a short clip to give you a sense of the potential. This is only the first 25 voices. Imagine what hundreds of voices will sound like! Sing now by visiting wallofsongproject.com/
